From Poop to Glimmer

This is a 20-minute presentation I gave during my MFA senior lecture at Antioch University. I originally created it as a coping mechanism for stage fright, but I’ve gotten feedback from people who attended the lecture or watched it online that they found it useful when thinking about their own process of writing, submitting, getting rejected, and eventually getting published. So let me know what you think…

You can also view it directly from Vimeo: From Poop to Glimmer.

I should be writing, but I just finished an interview for Laura Stanfill and spent some time on her blog looking at previous interviews. And now, through the wonder of linky things, I'm here. I enjoyed your presentation, am in awe of your creativity, and am going to hunt down a copy of Glimmer Train and read your story.

Thanks for the inspiration.

Great to hear from you, Michael. Thanks for watching. I really like your blog! And I'll keep a tab on Laura's site to read your interview...

Oh, and I liked the messy desk video. I think--well, I now I've got you beat! I still have all the books from my MFA biblio in piles on the floor and I'm not sure what's in the pile of papers to my left. Great advice on creating more space as needed.

Thank you Yuvi! As I was working working on my own blog post for this week, having not written a single word, OK maybe a word, but not much else in eight months, I googled, "when you're too busy to write," and your blog was near the top. I love what you have to say, your humor, your videos and your experience, which far exceeds my own as a would be writer. So, I thought I'd let you know that I'm going to mention you in my blog (hopefully to be posted before my 60th birthday, which is sometime from now).
My Best,
Kathe Perez

Kathe -- Good to hear from you. Glad you liked the videos. I enjoyed reading your blog. Good luck with your book!... It sounds potent.

Me Likey. The lower intestine graphic rocked.
Well done, with a good voice. soft and sexy.
I got hot for the picture of the girl standing next to the taxi/car.
Miss you Yuvi, and congratulations on graduating.
