I’m A Failed Writer #2: Time Management

The very-nearly-awaited second episode in the “I’m a failed writer” series. This one is about time management. With some arrogance, I try to solve all your time management issues in 3 words.

You can also watch it directly in Vimeo.

Hope you like it. Or at least tolerate it…

And here’s the link to OmniFocus. mmm… OmniFocus.

This is fabulous. Good insight into time management and writing even if you don't have kids.
Your narration is what makes this so much fun. Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback, Lynn. My hope was that this would be interesting regardless of whether or not you have kids. So that's good to hear...

Thanks Yuvi!
The reflections you made in this post helped me remeber the times when I had babies and how little time I had at that time. Now the youngest "baby" is a comparatively self propelled 14 year old. But even though I now have "oceans" of time to write I am not so sure the writing is progressing any faster. It seems the pressure to produce in a limited amount of time is also an important factor. However I think you are right on the spot with tip #1 (Get real) and #3 (treat yourself playfully).
Have a nice one!

My advisor used to tell me that (before my first kid,) that people were more focused after kids. Still can't figure out how to integrate OmniFocus into life though. Still dig OmniGraffle.
And congrats on getting over yourself.
After you publish something, tell me, I'll buy it. I miss your neurotic rants.

Great screen cast! We just had our second baby, and what holds true for having one multiplies when having two. As my tired brain is now mush, omnifocus has been an essential tool just for remembering what needs to get done. Non essential activities are gone. I am tired but more focused, even if my thoughts are scattered. Thank you for taking some of your time to rock this out!

Thanks for the feedback. And yes, I hear that having two little kids makes having one kid look like play time! Take care...
